10 | | Brett Preston | Some next steps I would propose: - Finalize the categories (as well as the number of winners per category). I would recommend not leaving open (e.g. 1-3); rather be clear on how many winners per category. - owner: TSC
- Once the above is complete, create a Google Form/SurveyMonkey to capture Nominations. Also determine who is allowed to submit a nomination (typically I've seen this as open/anyone can submit) - owners: Aaron (Google Form/SurveyMonkey), TSC (Who can nominate)
- In parallel, define any rules around the Awards - owner: TSC
- Who is allowed to vote on each category?
- What is the timing for Nominations / Voting (I typically allow at least 2 weeks for Nominations once announced and 1 week for Voting)
- Can also consider including rules around whether someone can win the same award two years in a row (or defer and define this rule next year)
- In parallel, review some hardware options for recognition (this will be easier once we know how many "total winners" there will be) - owner: Brett (done)
- Generate some options from LF vendorCan also consider Certificates for teams/multiple winners
- Finally, open Nominations and Voting. Send email notifying the community, initiate nomination period. Close nominations and open voting. - owner: Aaron
- Determine "venue" to announce the winners. Given I don't believe there is an event (or TSC F2F) to attach it to, you can probably just use a TSC meeting. Something to consider though in the future, working back the timeline to allow for announcement at either an event, or a TSC F2F. - owner: TSC
- Coordinate the shipping of hardware to each of the winners - owner: Aaron
- Have winners take a picture with their trophies / post to Wiki(?) - owner: Winners
- Write up a blog announcing the winners - owner: TSC Chair/Co-Chair or Aaron (i've seen both)
