Speaker: C.C. Fan
BIO:  20+ years in distributed system, as chief architect, built a social network platform with more than 300M users before 2010. He started 3 startups after the platform went public, all of which were  acquired. In 2019, he founded Allegro Networks with Yona Cao, building global edge networks to push computing closer to end users, making real-time applications more secure, faster and better.

Key points:

  1. Edge Networks Start to explode in the second half of 2021

  2. The demand for realtime is universal after pandemic

  3. New underlying technologies driving new architecture of internet

The guest speaker C.C. Fan presentation "The Pivotal Moment of Edge Computing" touched upon various aspects related to some of the recent Technology developments e.g. on use of QUIC in 5G as an enhancement to MPTCP. Several individuals in the audience, as Ike A., Jeff B. and Oleg B. directed questions and/or provided variety of remarks and comments. As part of the Presentation Q&A session, Oleg B. provided a link about "Google Distributed Cloud".
Due to the limited time left to follow the TSC Agenda points for the today's meeting, Tina T. inquired with Wenhui to conduct the scheduled for today's TSC approval for OpenMined Pipeline DP at the TSC meeting next week, to which Wenhui accepted.
Oleg B. accepted to be the next week "guest speaker" and present some insights related to his BP's, PCEI, evolvement.
No AP undertaken.
